Carpools on the Web

A father in Connecticut started a website Divide The Ride that organizes car pools for moms and dads to pick up their kids and take them to various activities. The site claims 13,000 users in California, Connecticut and Florida (and presumably anywhere else parents sign up). There is a spreadsheet to schedule events and parents can text each other if they're late or need to cancel.
Yes, they have thought about security. The site is password protected and the events on a schedule cannot be seen by everyone. So, you can't just find out what kids are going to be where - even if you wanted to.
I haven't checked to find out if there are any parents in Massachusetts but I have a feeling any site that cuts down on drive time for the average family is going to do well.
